Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneur is a person who establishes a business or a venture that generates some value to the customer and proves to be profitable for him. An entrepreneur takes up an initiative for bringing a change in the society and tries to bridge the gap between available opportunities and requirements of the society.
Entrepreneurship refers to the planned venture of an entrepreneur.
It can be described as starting the business by using the resources available to a person.
An entrepreneur's entrepreneurship directly affects society.
A society needs an entrepreneur to fulfil its needs and an entrepreneur needs a society to plan a venture.
- Develops employment
- Helps in economic development of the country
- Growth in National income
- Regional development
- Improved standards of living
Qualities of a successful Entrepreneur:
- An entrepreneur is a person who does not depends on someone for employment rather creates employment opportunities for others.
- An entrepreneur is not driven by the spirit of becoming rich overnight. It requires years to establish a business and earn a remarkable amount. An entrepreneur need not have a luxurious life, he/she may choose to invest his surplus earning in paying off his/her debts or investing in another venture.
- An entrepreneur has a positive outlook towards society and tries focusing on the aspects which general people fail to see.
- An entrepreneur develops a risk-taking attitude. He/she may fail but still puts every bit to raise his/her venture and take it to new heights.
- Entrepreneurs are not born; they are made over time, they learn various skills and take an initiative to raise a venture.
